Free Construction Trainee Program launching September 12, 2022

Community Builders is pleased to announce they are now accepting applications for their Construction Trainee Program that starts on Monday, Sept. 12.

The paid program runs for three months (Monday to Thursday, 40 hours per week) for visible minorities which includes – but is not limited to – women, newcomers to Canada, and those who are Black or Indigenous.

The construction training program is designed as pre-employment training which focuses on giving its participants the tools that they need to succeed for a prosperous career in the trades.

Trainees will get real on-the-job construction training in a supportive and supervised environment, and will also receive a free starter tool kit, free Working-at-Heights, and free WHMIS training.  At the end of the 3-month training, graduates are helped to find higher-paying jobs in the trades of their choice.

“Before Community Builders, I struggled with housing, and getting back on my feet.  I was living on the streets homeless, and so I wanted to enter the Construction Trainee Program to gain some trades experience, learn new things, and to try and better myself,” says Joe, who just graduated from the program.

“After I started with the program, I started learning trade skills and got my own place with the money that I had earned. The program has taught me that I’m capable of learning lots of new things, even during the hardest times of my life, and that no matter what obstacles are in your way, anything is possible.”

Anyone interested in being part of the Construction Trainee Program is invited to submit a quick application online.
