Roasting bannock, feeding chickadees, posing with Wodin the snowy owl and snowshoeing through a winter wonderland are just some of the activities that will be offered up at the Wye Marsh winter open house on December 14.

For the second straight year, the Wye Marsh will be providing a jam-packed day full of family-friendly outdoor fun.
“It’s just a day where we showcase what we do and let people know we are open in the winter,” said Amanda Swick, volunteer and event co-ordinator at the Wye Marsh. ““In the fall, a lot of people ask when we close for the season, but we are open year-round.”

By far the most popular activity among visitors is feeding chickadees. Anyone standing around with seeds in their hands will have no problem attracting the tiny little birds.
