Are you a student with interest in working in the fascinating field of economic development this summer? The Economic Development Corporation of North Simcoe (EDCNS), supported by four municipalities: Midland, Penetanguishene, Tay, Tiny, has a temporary position available to fill the role of Economic Development Assistant.  You must meet the criteria of the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

Reporting to the Director, Economic Development, the successful candidate will support initiatives identified in the Corporation’s Economic Development Work Plan. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct outgoing marketing calls
  • Conduct research, update statistics and data
  • Participate in representing the EDCNS at community events
  • Respond to inquiries and liaise with community stakeholders
  • Assist with the coordination of economic development meetings
  • Participate in other projects as identified by the Economic Development Director
  • Maintain confidentiality

The preferred candidate will have excellent grammar, attention to detail, an interest in marketing and good knowledge of the Microsoft Office product suite. The ability to be available to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the position will be required.

Employment is expected to commence on or around June 24, 2019. Candidates must be returning to full-time studies in the fall in accordance with the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Rate of pay is $16.00 per hour based on a 4 day/30-hour work week.
