It is amazing how far people will go to get their hands on a great-tasting butter tart.

An estimated 60,000 to 65,000 people flocked to Midland on June 8 to purchase their fair share of ooey-gooey, sweet-and-sticky, melt-in-your-mouth butter tarts.

Along with the thousands of visitors who came from across Simcoe County and the Greater Toronto Area, some sugar addicts travelled from as far away as Nova Scotia, Alberta, the United States, Sweden, Germany and Belgium for a chance to stuff themselves full of the popular Canadian treat.
