North Simcoe Tourism is proud to introduce the new Heart of Georgian Bay 2017 Discovery Guide. This Discovery Guide is not only a promotional piece to attract visitors to our region, but it will also assist in moving them around once they are here, in hopes that they stay longer. This guide includes all visitor-friendly businesses within our region that fall under the various tourism sectors: stay, eat, shop, events, and activity-based experiences (boating, beaches, cycling, paddling, history, and winter). This publication was a very affordable, cost recovery marketing program, which means that the revenue received from photo and advertorial sales paid for the design, print, and distribution of the piece.

North Simcoe Tourism has printed 40,000 copies of the new guidebook, and has already begun distributing them. These guides will be delivered to more than sixty tourism information centres along the Hwy 401 corridor from Sarnia to Ottawa and Quebec, as well as to hotels, attractions, restaurants, golf courses and ski resorts throughout Simcoe County. These guidebooks will also be used in delegate bags for Familiarization (FAM) Tours, cruise ship passengers, sporting tournaments and events, and stakeholder workshops and conferences. They will even be handed out at local events and industry consumer shows (i.e., Toronto International Boat Show, Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival, etc.). Lastly, North Simcoe Tourism will be distributing these guidebooks locally to all accommodations, attractions, marinas, golf courses, municipal offices, recreation centres, information centres, and on-request by other business/organizations.

Brittany Black, Director of North Simcoe Tourism stated, “It was our goal to ensure that each visitor is made aware of all of the available activities and experiences offered in the Heart of Georgian Bay; therefore, we have done our best to include information on all of the accommodations, retail, food and beverage, attractions, and activity-based operators in the region. We are so excited to finally have a piece that showcases the pure beauty and unique product offerings in the Heart of Georgian Bay for everyone to enjoy, available in both print and online.”
