The golden egg of Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival is the fact that butter tarts are timeless.
“I think it can go forever,” said Karen Mealing, Midland’s cultural development co-ordinator.
“The love of butter tarts isn’t limited by age. You see some festivals are dying out because their audiences are aging and not going to festivals anymore. I don’t think that will ever happen because children love butter tarts and they will keep coming.”
