Knowing where the coffee they serve comes from is extremely important to Scott Campbell and Nicole DiPinto.

The couple owns and operates Grounded Coffee Co. by Midland’s waterfront. They take a hand-on approach by personally sourcing and roasting all the beans on-site.

“For the most part, 92 per cent is fair trade organic and the stuff that is not, we know the story of the farmers that are providing us with it. It may be that they’re organic compliant but just not certified or instead of being part of a larger fair trade cooperative it may be dealing directly with a farmer,” said Campbell.

Ensuring that all the beans they use are ethically sourced is extremely important, he noted.
