Plans to renovate the Commodore Hotel are still moving along, albeit ever so slowly.

While no drawings or documents regarding the proposed renovation have been officially submitted to the town, architectural drawings outlining owner Yvonne Blaszczyk’s vision for the redevelopment of the property were recently completed.

The latest drawings indicate that a Parisian-style hotel is still the main concept of the redesign. Renderings show a completely overhauled exterior along with a small sidewalk café along Simcoe Street.

Blaszczyk, who purchased the building in in April 2016 with the intent of creating a boutique style hotel, said the redevelopment is a “work in progress.” In 2016, Blaszczyk noted that the new hotel would have about 25 rooms, as well as a restaurant and bar on the main floor. []
