Festival of the Bay returns to Midland next week

Brookside Music Association - Festival of the Bay

Following two years of pandemic restrictions, Brookside Music Association is pleased to be presenting a full summer festival of music that is sure to have something for everyone.

Last summer the organization presented an all-outdoor festival, which drew large and appreciative audiences, and this year the festival will be a combination of free outdoor events, which focus on world music, together with indoor, ticketed events.

Also returning this summer is the Toronto All-Star Big Band, which will be featured at a dinner-dance event at the Midland Golf and Country Club.

The blockbuster lineup of world-class performers includes Haitian, Afro-soul, jazz and traditional European classical music with performers including pianist Sheng Cai, the Zodiac Trio, Amai Kuda et les Bois, the Festival of the Sound Chamber Ensemble, and Paul Novotny and Robi Botos with Jackie Richardson, among others. Details about the full lineup can be found on the website at www.brooksidemusic.com.

“It is wonderful to be able to gather together, once again, for the unique experience of listening to live music,” says John French, founder and artistic director of Brookside Music Association. “The pandemic has been particularly difficult for performing artists and I know that they will be performing this year with unparalleled passion.”

The Brookside Music Association’s summer Festival of the Bay is now in its 12th year of bringing exceptional talent to Midland. This year’s festival is funded in part by Canadian Heritage, the Ontario Arts Council, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Simcoe Tourism and Midland Rotary.
