The pandemic has crippled the restaurant and catering industry, but Georgian Shores Catering has managed to weather the storm. Co-owners Dave Scoffield and Wade Plewes say they’ve survived due to the community’s desire to support local. “The community has been amazing,” said Plewes. “People really wanted to support local.”

The two chefs operate a catering company and a storefront in Midland. While the catering side of the businesses has struggled, as weddings and other events were cancelled, the store picked up the slack.[]
