Starry nights, owl calls highlight Wye Marsh’s night hikes

Most people wouldn’t think of going snowshoeing at night in the winter. Most people are missing seeing stars in winter and the sounds of the forest at night.

A different experience is exactly what the Marsh by Moonlight Snowshoe Series at Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre aims to accomplish. “It’s night time tours of the marsh. You get to see and hear different things,” said Amanda Swick, event and volunteer co-ordinator.

Program manager Emily Metcalf said groups of up to 10 people are led through the trails by an experienced naturalist.
